About The Scan Truck
The mobile 3D scanning studio behind 300+ productions.
The Story of The Scan Truck Started With a Problem Hollywood Couldn’t Solve
Film productions needed high-fidelity 3D scans of their stars, but stars don’t leave set. Schedules are brutal, insurance is strict, and a two-hour round trip to a scanning studio simply doesn’t happen mid-production. So founders Jiggs Love and Vlad Galat flipped the problem: if talent can’t come to the studio, the studio comes to talent.
The answer was a 24-foot truck rebuilt from the frame up as a complete photogrammetry studio: a 160-camera cross-polarized DSLR array, custom LED lighting, a processing suite, and its own generator, all fully self-sufficient wherever production happens. Actors step in between setups and step out minutes later, scanned at hero quality.

300+ Productions Later
Eight years on, The Scan Truck has parked beside the biggest productions in entertainment. We captured Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet on location for Dune: Part Two, digitized the mechanical characters in Superman, and scanned casts and props for Avengers: Endgame, John Wick 3, Fast X, and Star Trek: Picard. Game studios brought us the full cast of The Quarry (2K) and athletes for FIFA 23 (EA Sports). Coldplay, Lil Nas X, and Selena Gomez stepped into the rig for music videos. The NFL, the NBA, Tom Brady, and Super Nintendo World all built experiences on our scans.
Along the way, LA Weekly named co-founder Jiggs Love one of its Top 10 Los Angeles Entrepreneurs to Know, and our client list grew to include 10 of the Forbes 100.
Work That Helps Save Lives
It turns out the same pipeline that builds digital doubles builds digital twins. Defense and public-sector programs need real equipment, real facilities, and real environments converted into accurate simulation assets, and they need partners who can work fast on site. The Scan Truck is a civilian company, and we support this world as a subcontractor and technical partner: our team contributed to a completed Phase II SBIR, performed work under an OTA agreement, supported U.S. Army productions, and digitized military equipment at 25-micron accuracy. Data that precise trains the people who do dangerous jobs, and work like that ultimately helps save lives.
That work shaped how we operate everywhere: scan data can stay on client-controlled storage with no cloud upload, and our crew members are U.S. citizens. We team as a subcontractor or technical partner on SBIR, STTR, OTA, and BAA opportunities, and every dataset we deliver is simulation-ready, built so a program can carry it straight into VR training environments, a capability we stand ready to deliver end to end.
The Capture Layer for AI
Today a new kind of client pulls up to the truck: AI and synthetic data teams who need ground truth. Machine learning models train best on data rooted in reality, and generic asset-store models don’t cut it. We scan the exact objects, people, materials, and environments a perception system needs to learn, then deliver them as clean, simulation-ready assets in USD, glTF, and FBX for Isaac Sim, Unreal, Unity, and custom pipelines. Every dataset ships with licensing cleared for ML training, with provenance documented at delivery.
Two Studios, One Standard
The fleet now runs two mobile studios. The flagship truck in Los Angeles carries the full toolkit: 160-camera cross-polarized photogrammetry, blue-light laser scanning accurate to 25 microns, and long-range LiDAR. The Albuquerque trailer is a dedicated full-body photogrammetry studio, expandable and winterized, covering the East Coast and everywhere between, with a second long-range LiDAR system stationed alongside it. Around 120 people scanned in a day. Raw data in about 2 working days. Hero assets in about 5 working days.
Powered by Positivity
The Scan Truck was consciously built around a team of positively charged, high-integrity industry professionals, and that culture shows up on set: talent relaxed, crews unblocked, data delivered. It also shows up off set. Through our Virtually Conscious program, we donate cameras to educational programs around the globe and offer scholarship scanning for environmental, educational, health, and humanitarian projects.

Whether you’re a producer who needs a digital double by Friday, an ML team building a bespoke training dataset, or a program manager digitizing equipment for simulation, the mission has never changed: bring the studio to the subject and turn the real world into data you can build on.
